Namaste, all !!

.

off lately I am doing a project and it is “My Best Version”.  Let me be very honest, it is totally challenging as it brings so many triggers, frustrating moments, and overwhelming emotions many times. You witness your flaws and weakness.  Another day I was trying to pen down what all things matter to me and, which concepts hold value in my life.  While playing back my life in my head, I understood my needs and choices which gave me this affirmation ” I live in Harmony with Nature”.

.

Here comes the Sustainability in the Picture.  There are many versions and definitions of it however for me, Sustainability means what comes from nature goes back to nature completely with a minimum of harm if not completely harmless. And it implies all the things we consume or use daily.

.

Before diving into further details let me clear you ” I am still in Transition Phase”  and share my experience.

.

WE KNOW CHANGE IS CONSTANT AND EVERY CHANGE COMES WITH ITS OWN CHALLENGES.

The challenges which I overcome and still working on when I decided to Incorporate this principle in my life.

  • Demotivation from people: Yes!!  you read it correctly and don’t be surprised about it.  I heard N number of statements that were enough to demotivate.  Why this madness? This is for people who are free in their life. It is not going to change anything. You are not in an age of doing experiments.  Natural things won’t work for you.  However here I am writing this post 😆
  • Where to Start: It was difficult to figure out as I was seeing changes required everywhere and it was stressing me out. The first step is always important to complete a journey!!  Two things helped me to make a breakthrough.
  • # Go with the routine: Like all, I start my day by brushing so the first switch I made for a toothbrush from plastic to bamboo.
  • # First Comes First:  Swipe those things first which you use daily, once a day like bathing soap, or several times a day like a handwash.
  • Money Needed:  This literally took a toll on me.  Due to excitement, I wanted to change all things at once however I understood ” Good things take time”.  and Understand that “It is a work in progress”.  How I handled this?   I made a goal for myself that the maximum swipe I will do in a month will be three.  It is true that certain things are expensive like a plastic-based sanitary pad compared to a bio-degradable one while other things are more or less the same for example a plastic toothbrush and a bamboo toothbrush.

.

  •  Which Company/ Products to Consider: This is so confusing for a beginner because the market is flooded with products and companies. Hit and trial causes a waste of money and when you do this you give a chance to people to demotivate you again and further. While so many companies claim to be 100% natural while, in reality, they are not. Sometimes the mistake is so obvious but we don’t consider that because of blind faith in the people who made them or the celebrity who claims to use them in advertisements. The example I can give you is about ” Alevo vera gel”.  Many famous brands sell it and claim to be 100% natural however if you have ever seen the aloe vera plant then you know that it is transparent i.e. it has no color while most commercially available have synthetic green color added to it.

  •  Be clear about what is necessary and what is just fancy: “Everything is Business”. You need to be crystal clear in your head about what is necessary to change.  I was tempted to buy disposable cutlery but then dropped the idea.  Yeah!!  But Why? Because my logic stopped me. If I can use steel straw instead of plastic then why can’t I use the steel spoon and Fork also? Why do I need to buy cutlery made of bamboo or coconut shell?  I can use cotton clothes to wrap my food why do I need to buy beeswax wrap? Do you prefer to burden nature just to be fancy or trendy?
  • #Enviornment Conscious or #Trend Conscious

.

So, I rest the Sharing here for now.  Have you considered switching & swiping? Are you already there? I would love to listen to how are you doing on this journey.

Love and Light
