Cultivating & Mastering: Self

LOVING & CARING FOR “SELF” IS EMPOWERING.

For a long, I am listening to and exploring this concept of Self-love and care.  What does it actually mean? Why does it hold so much value? How can I implement it “Being me?”

.

So many thoughts and questions? Well yes!! 😛

.

To some extent, I got the answer when I was exploring the topic in a form of a quote (The very much reason why I love books and quotes, they give you an unbiased answer. 😛 )

.

The Quote is ” If a flower is to be beautiful, it must be cultivated.”

After some satisfactory search, I understood the following things about the topic and they are:…….

  1.  Self-love and care, it is an umbrella terms. It is just not limited to your looks and food.
  2.  It is very Subjective.
  3. Everyone has a certain set of beliefs or principles which govern their life.

Let’s take the example from my own life to understand it better.  I opted to figure out how can I implement it in areas of mental, emotional, and Spiritual (Energy) aspects.  Ever since I am conscious I know my emotions hold much value for me.  Certain emotions make you feel good, give a boost to your thoughts, and hence to your energy. On the other hand, others make you feel a downward spiral. Here starts the vicious cycle.  So I count on my thoughts, Feelings, and energy under this umbrella term. Coming to the second point, what I consider healthy, how I balance these areas, and how I create my boundaries are very personal and subjective. Like some find trill in a Horror movie and others get depressed or fearful.  So this way one can recognize what to choose and what to filter out.

Now Practical aspect is not answered!!

I know now, I consider thoughts, feelings, and energy under Self-love and Care, further, I understood violence causes me to feel a downward spiral of emotions now what?

.

Next, I need to find out what beliefs I hold about this.  What is my perspective toward the people involved?  What emotions did it trigger for me?  What am I supposed to learn?

.

After this much groundwork, I implemented the principle of “Meditation”  and became more mindful of the impressions I collect throughout the day. After all your energy follows your attention.  The things which get your attention, get your energy, and get attracted and activated in your energy field.

.

It is easy to say than do it.  I can say I am half away on this Journey.  Still need to be consistent with meditation.

Also, I listen to Guided meditation, relaxation, and instrumental music.  Recently I learned about including Prayer also and it’s power.
